Take Home Chef

My brother-in-law, Paul, was in town last weekend judging a cooking competition.
He's a chef.
Every family should have a chef in it.
And a chiropractor.
We don't have a chiropractor in ours yet.
I'm counting on one of my siblings to make that happen.

Anyway, back to the story.
Paul came over to visit and cook us dinner Iron Chef style.
I bought some ingredients and he made it into a meal.

First, pictures with Uncle Paul.
I'm pretty sure Alice was about to cry here, but it kinda looks like a smile, so let's roll with that.

The true challenge was probably cooking in our little kitchen with subpar knives,
but Paul has mad skillz and made it happen.

He cooked steak over a quinoa salad with lots of veggies, feta, and yumminess.
Then, he made a lobster pasta with a tomato cream sauce, chicken sausage, and a lot of other stuff.
It was freakin' fantastic!
Thankfully, we had leftovers.
We happily ate them for the next 3 meals and were both really sad when they were gone.

It was a really, really fun night.
I'm pretty sure Paul doesn't read our blog, but just in case,
THANK YOU, PAUL!!!! You're amazing.

You should see what our family Thanksgiving and Christmas spreads look like when Paul cooks.
It's out of control.

Paul is now a daddy to 7 kiddos!
I've linked this before, but just in case you want to read their story, it's here.

Lastly, Alice has been experiencing some pretty intense "stranger danger" recently.
She'll be okay for about 10 seconds before the saddest frown emerges.
She looks like she's trying really hard to hold it together.
It's enough to break a mama's heart.

We're going through the "stranger danger" phase too. How sad it that?! She's got one heck of a cute sad face though. :)
