The Playground Breakdown

Alice and I are on a mission.
We want to find the best playground in town.
(Well, our general area of town.)

I figured I'd document our quest here.

There are a few things that make a good playground to me.
1. Safety-
Does it have good surfacing?
Is the equipment maintained?
Will this playground result in us paying toward our super high insurance deductible?

2. Wind/Sun/Shade situation-
When it's cold, I want a park in the direct sunshine.
In the summer, I want shade.
I also don't enjoy being blown away.

3. Crowds-
I don't like them.
I also don't like my almost 4 year old learning "colorful" language from other kids at the park.

4. Restroom access-
The problem is, it's typically the bigger (more crowded) parks that have restrooms.
We keep a potty in the van, just in case.

5. Other-
Will it entertain her for awhile?
Are there areas that challenge her gross motor skills?
Are there picnic tables?
Is it stroller friendly?

So, that's it.
That's our Spring/Summer challenge. :)

I just found this, Melissa! For some reason, it looked like you hadn't blogged since December on my computer. Weird. This is a great resource as I like trying out other parks too. Let me know if you want to expand our direction. Come over to Nancy Lewis sometime?
