Notes

I love finding these!

Also, she's referring to Sharpies.
I returned them after a recent confiscation.
Not sharps, like a needle with a syringe.
That would be a bad idea. :)

Pool time!

I LOVE when it's a little cooler and the pool clears out. :)
We've been swimming a lot lately and having a blast!
(And by "we", I mean "the girls". I don't get in.
My optimal pool day is sitting in the sun and staying dry.)

She's tall enough to do the big waterslides this year!

Being silly with friends.

Yesterday, we had the pool to ourselves for nearly an hour!
Can you spot Alice?

We just finished up a round of lessons for both girls.
Alice wants to be on the swim team, so she worked on the backstroke,
freestyle, treading water for a few minutes, diving, and even retrieved a 10lb brick from 6'!
She has surpassed my swimming abilities.
She LOVES swimming and I love watching her!

Clementine is getting close!
She would rather chit-chat and play princesses with her instructors than actually swim.

Birthday fun!

For my birthday,
we went swimming,
then my homeschool moms group threw a brunch for me, which was AWESOME!!!,
(and I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures!)
Then, we went out to dinner, too!
It was a really great day.

To me, any day I don't have to cook is a good one.
I think I went 3 days without cooking!
Happy Birthday to ME!

On Saturday, I spent the entire day with my sisters-in-law!
Over Easy for breakfast, walking around the Broadmoor, lunch at Ivywild,
went to see some amazing photography at an art studio, chai at a fun coffee shop,
then dinner at Shugga's. It was such a fun day!
We tried to take a picture with the beautiful rainbow. :)

Ben also signed us up for a painting class!
It was really fun and now the girls think we are amazing artists. Ha!

Now, we're sitting at a coffee shop while our girls are spending the weekend with Nana and Grandpa!
Happy Birthday weeks to me!
I feel so loved!

Dinner is served!

One night, I, while laying on the couch, asked, "Anyone else want to make dinner tonight?"
Alice, very sweetly and excitedly, said she would.

I loved how proud she was of the dinner she served. :)

New park!

We visited John Venezia park the other day...
and will absolutely be back!

This tall, spinning tree structure stressed me out from a safety perspective.
However, it was really neat to listen to the kids work cooperatively together.
My girls LOVED it!

Library love.

{ERC fun}

{Paws to Read}

{Books with recipes are extra awesome!}

We go to the library a LOT.
The children's librarian knows my kids by name, which makes me so happy!
What an amazing resource we have just up the street!

Donut Day!

I mean, it would've been irresponsible to NOT go eat a free donut, right?

The cousins are back!

After almost 2 years, our family is back from Nepal for an extended visit!
The girls have been beside themselves with excitement!

On this day, we all went to the museum in Denver.
Fierce little Vikings!

We're so thankful to have them back!

Community Garden

We've loved having a community garden plot this summer.
One of my favorite things about it is that they have a bunch of food bank beds.

On this day, we were asked to pick raspberries and drop them off at Mercy's Gate.

I'm thankful for an opportunity to do some volunteering with my kids!

June.

Most of June was filled with me feeling mostly horrible,
and the girls watching a lot of PBS Kids because of it.
(Thank you, PBS Kids!!)

But, here are some memories from the month:

{Moana VBS}

{Hillbilly hot tub}

{Summer Camp!}

{Iris garden}

{Making accessories}

{Early morning reading}

{Science experiment with Dad}

{Hawaiian ice!}

{Cousin time!}

God's Plan > Our Plan

Lord willing, our SON will be joining us in January!

Here's a video of us telling the girls.
The first minute is cute.
Then, fast forward to 2:20-3:30 to see Alice's response to how long it takes babies to grow. :)
Waiting is hard!

Beach trip 2017

I don't have a ton to say about our Florida trip other than it was absolutely lovely!

Everyday was pretty much the same:
wake up, eat breakfast, go to the beach, eat lunch, nap/veg, go back to the beach, eat dinner, sleep.
Our ideal vacation, really.

Uncle Will (my little brother) and Aunt Kiki (my big sister) were SO SWEET with my kids.
Playing in the ocean is not something I love doing, so I'm extra thankful they got to spend time
with their Aunt and Uncle while playing in the ocean.

There were a few crazy storms at night, which brought up some amazing seashells for us to find.

These two.
No other women have shaped me more than my mom and sister.
They're both incredible, beautiful, resilient, strong, faithful, and all-around awesome people.

Reading books and drinking coffee on the patio:

Alice would often say, "The only thing that would be better than this if if we lived here forever."
She is a beach girl FOR SURE!

Our last day was a little different because we needed to check out of the house in the morning,
but our flight didn't leave until the evening.

So, we did our only adventurous thing and went on a dolphin boat tour!
The captain would stop in front of a pod of dolphins and
Ben and Alice would jump off as they swam through...SO close. It was incredible!

Then, we went to Shell Island where we found tons of sand dollars, held starfish and sea urchins,
and the girls played in the calm, shallow water. I wish we could've stayed there all day!

I love my family.
I love going to the beach with them.
I wish I could replay that week over and over again!

Snapshots of May

 Lots of time at the garden:

Bubble beards!

Hiking:

Clementine has been very into making accessories. :)

Alice took an art class at the library:

This is what the girls brought me for Mother's Day breakfast in bed:
It cracked me up!

"Mom! Come take a picture of us being sweet!"

Love these moments!
Alice almost always chooses the Action Bible.

We got to go for a quick visit to the farm, too!

Swimming!

 More cutting tiny pieces of paper and sticking them to her face:

Alice learned how to tie her shoes!

...and how to flip pancakes!
